Proverbs 9

Each of us has a choice everyday. We can choose the things of this World or we can choose the things of God.
Look at the two invitations that the different women give:

Wisdom...
She calls out form the heights v3
Calling aloud to all v4
Eat my food and drink what I have to give v5
Forsake folly and live and have understanding! v6

Adulteress (folly)
She sits in her doorway v14
Calling to men as they mind their own business v15
Stolen water and secret bread v17
Take the adulteress and die v18

Which one are we drawn to? Which woman are we most like? We need to look at our life and see how we compare...
Do we know Christ? v10
Are we open with talking about Christ? v3
Do we invite others to know Him? v4
or
Are we brash or mean? v13
Are we in hiding? v14
Do we surround our self with people who do not know Christ? v16
Do we do things in secret? v17

Here is a song that makes the point clear about the adulteress (folly)!

"I'm here for you," she said
and we can stay for awhile,
my boyfriend's gone
we can just pretend.
Lips that need no introduction
Now who's the greater sin
Your drab eyes seem to invite
(tell me darling) Where do we begin.

Was this over before...
before it ever began?
Your kiss, your calls, your crutch
Like the devil's got your hand
This was over before
Before it ever began
Your lips, your lies, your lust
Like the devil's in your hands

Everyone in this town
is seeing somebody else
Everybody's tired of someone
our eyes wander for help
Prayers that need no answer now
I'm tired of who I am
You were my greatest mistake
I fell in love with your sin
Your littlest sin

Was this over before...
before it ever began?
Your kiss, your calls, your crutch
Like the devil's got your hand
This was over before
Before it ever began
Your lips, your lies, your lust
Like the devil's in your hands

Failure is your disease
You want my outline drawn
You were my greatest failure
Discourse your saving song

Guitar Solo

Was this over before...
before it ever began?
Your kiss, your calls, your crutch
Like the devil's got your hand
This was over before
Before it ever began
Your lips, your lies, your lust
Like the devil's in your hands

Was this over before...
before it ever began?
Your kiss, your calls, your crutch
Like the devil's got your hand
This was over before
Before it ever began
Your lips, your lies, your lust
Like the devil's in your hands

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge of the Lord is understanding" (v. 10).

My prayer today is that I would know God better at the end of it. For that to happen, I'll have to spend the day in an attitude of prayer and humility. Not an easy task when you've got a thousand things to do. I'm desperate, though, for wisdom and understanding, so please pray for me. I'll do the same for y'all.

Wisdom allows you to build a foundation for your life, your relationships, your job, your family... Everything! Wisdom allows you to deal with what you face today and prepare for what is coming tomorrow. If you build your life on foolish decisions, it will come crashing down someday!

The world preys on the fact that people get confused and feel lost sometimes. Even Christians! What is my purpose in life? Why am I here? Does anything I do really matter? Don't fall for the world's easy "solutions"!! God, in his wisdom, has provided all the answers in the Bible. Not just generic answers that apply to everyone. When you spend time with God, he will show you exactly what He wants YOU to do and be. Using a single chapter in Proverbs, God can say so many different things to different people. It's not magic, it's wisdom.
