This month has been great and a joy to do. It has been awesome to see the posts and thoughts of everyone. Those of you that posted to the blog or emailed or emailed me your thoughts, thank you! My prayer is that this journey through Proverbs will help you all continue to read and apply God’s Word everyday.
v.1-9 Protect those who need protection. Stand up for those who can not do it alone. Don’t waste time or strength on alcohol or people that will ruin you!
v.6-7Alcohol makes you forget and dulls everything around you. Wine, in the past, was used as medicine. For ailing stomachs and other internal issues. The wine back then was not as potent as it is today.
v.10-31 Focus on a Godly woman or man. Let God decide who will be the perfect mate for you. Don’t waste time dating and going from one person to the next. Instead, take time observing and getting to know the Christians around you. The ones that are serving, ministering, loving and following Christ everyday. They are the ones that fear the Lord and will be a blessing to those around them! Charm and good looks will fade away, but a Godly man or woman will be praised! Look at what they do and how they do it, not what they look like!

Drinking still does no good. But when the Bible says "Give...wine to those who are in anguish." (v6) When I first read that a long time ago, I thought, "How could GOD want us to drink beer and wine? It isn't good." I asked some people, and they said that back in the "old days," people didn't have pain relievers. People didn't have Tylonal or Advil, so the only thing to remove their troubles is to drink. The Bible says give it to people when they are in utter depression. But now we have medicine and stuff for that, so we don't need to drink. GOD also says that we shouldn't drink wine just to forget things. GOD wants us to be careful!
Be kind to the needy! Help them, feed them, clothe them!JESUS said to help the poor, and by helping them, you are helping THE LORD!!!
I love verses 10-13 a whole lot! 10-31 talk about a noble wife. I just like the first three verses. I love these verses because GOD is telling all of us women how valuable we are! Back in colonial times, men probably treated rubies better than their wives. They could beat them, hire them to whomever, and they were basically treated like a slave! Well, GOD says that we are FAR more valuable than rubies, and we should be a good wife to our husbands!
GOD loves ALL of us! Rachel Gragg
