Proverbs 24

v.30-34 "I walked by the field of a lazy person, the vineyard of one with no common sense.  I saw that is was overgrown with nettles.  It was covered with weeds, and its walls were broken down.  Then, as I looked and thought about it, I learned this lesson:

A little extra sleep, a little more slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest-then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit; scarcity will attack you like an armed robber."

This morning my focus is on being lazy.  I was thinking about ways that I am personally lazy:

Being the last one in bed during the week.

Not doing the dishes when they should be done.

Washing clothes.

Watching sports and putting off school work.

Doing yard work.

I think it is in our sin nature to be lazy.  We are more like the sluggard than we are the ant...see Proverbs 6:6-11!  Lazy people are not only lazy when it comes to work, but they are also lazy when it comes to God as well.  We need to be careful when it comes to being lazy and not get trapped!

Lazy people have no common sense. v.30

Lazy people have no protection. v. 31

Lazy people end up poor (spiritually and financially). v. 34

Say away from people who do things that you know are wrong. Don't be jealous of what they have. Don't worry yourself over them. God knows who they are and what they are doing. They have no future.

Stand up for people that you know are innocent and unjustly accused of something. Don't stand by doing nothing thinking that you don't want to get involved. Gossip spreads quickly and people can get accused of things they didn't do. If you know the truth, don't let pride or peer pressure stand in the way of clearing someones name or reputation.

V.15-16. Don't watch a "good" (One who seems to ALWAYS be right) person and wait until they mess up so you can spread the word. You are an OUTlAW!!!!!!!!!!!! Even when the rightteous one falls, he gets back up again, but the wicked stay down because of all of their falts.

V. 17-18. Don't be happy when a wicked person messes up!Don't say, "Oh, you messed up! Na na na na boo boo!!!" Is that showing CHRIST? WWJD

V.29 also stuck out to me. Remember this verse: Vengence is Mine, I SHALL repay. Revenge is GOD's job, not yours.
