Proverbs 22

What do we do for the poor and hungry?  This Proverb has a lot to say about our attitude and our actions.  Just look at the following:

v1

v2

v7

v9

v16

v22

Read them again...what do they say about you?  How can we as individuals and as a Church come together to help, to be a positive influence in this corrupt world?  I know times are tough for a lot of families, but they are even tougher for others.  Please take a moment today to think about the following:

Pray: How can you pray for the poor and needy today?

Give: What can you give?  How can you give to the world hunger emphasis at church?  What about food for the Noonday pantry?

Go: Would you be willing to work?  Work a day at Must Ministries?  Work a day at the Noonday pantry?

If you have questions or would like to help at many of the opportunities, please let me know!  Jesus came, first, to minister to the poor and needy!

v19 "I am teaching you today-yes, you-so you will trust in the Lord.

Be wise and watch out for potential danger before going into a situation. Live an honest life! The dishonest road is full of emotional and physical danger. It may appear safe and rewarding but there are always more traps than the ones you see.

We are also given the first 5 of 30 principals to live by:

1. Don't take advantage of the poor or weak just because you can.
2. Don't hang out with angry people.
3. Don't gamble everything on the chance for wealth.
4. Don't cheat your neighbors or friends
5. Observe the worker who gets where he is because of hard work.

Read these again and work to apply them to your life. God does not give us random advice. It all comes from God's wisdom that He shares with us.

Another great place to volunteer to help is the Special Olympics, held in Atlanta. They ALWAYS need help in the cafeteria, packing meals, cleaning tables and giving smiles to the athletes. They are really an inspiration and you will be blessed! Janette Gragg

I love reading not only the actual Proverbs chapter, but what other people say about it! It is so great!
I really hope people read this because I know that I am posting late, but I really want everyone to read this:
Give to the poor! I love helping out with kitchen things, feeding the needy....I just don't know how to get into those kinds of things. GOD has gifted EVERYONE!!! So EVERYONE should use their gifts for Him. HE has enabled us to be able to do these kinds of things (helping others). We in America, or even just us in this church are so blessed! GOD has given so many things, but they weren't ours to begin with. They were GOD's. So let's give some of that money and that stuff back.
I don't understand verses 7, 12, and 13. Did anyone understand these? Like in verse 7 the Bible said, "The rich rule over the poor." Is GOD saying that that is how it is and that it is bad?
V. 24-25. Please read these again. They are about the hot tempered man. We are to stay away from him. GOD doesn't want us to get ensared in those people. We need to witness to them.
